I love saving money! Many food items are going up by as much as almost 70% from last year! It is probably less expensive eating from the $1 menu at McDonalds than shopping at the grocery store!
Using cash off coupons is really a great way to shave your grocery bill … try to match your coupons with the weekly sales flyers from the grocery store. Buy store brand items instead of the name brands. Use rebates whenever you can. There are lots of "Try Me Free" ones. This takes a lot of organizing and a little bit of work but it is well worth it. Shop for those items you need and stock up on staples when they are on sale. Make a list and stick to it. Plan your menus for the week. Buy less expensive meats and cook them in a crockpot. Buy in bulk, look for discounts and clearance items. Use leftovers to create new meals. Take your lunch and snacks to school and work. Cut back on eating out.

If you can do without cable or HBO, Showtime etc. this will save you some money each month. Make sure you are paying the lowest car insurance you can find. Cut down on those expensive coffees such as Starbucks. Rent movies at the library. Make your own soaps and cleaners … google some recipes for these. Read magazines and newspapers at the library instead of buying them. Go to the park with your family and friends and have a picnic … check with the tourist information center for your city for free passes to the zoo and museums.
When doing your errands do everything in one trip and make your runs in a circle to save on gas … the UPS drivers do this! Grow your own vegetables and fruits, carpool, turn off lights when leaving a room, color your own hair, do your own manicures and pedicures, cut down on air conditioning/heat, hand wash small items and use cold water to do laundry, cut down on credit card spending and pay your bill in full each month to avoid interest. Shop at thrift stores, second hand stores, swap meets, garage sales, and flea markets … sometimes you can find brand new clothes with the tags still on! Make your own greeting cards and stationary. Try not to buy lottery tickets or scratch offs.Get rid of your landline phone and use your cell phone exclusively.
I’m sure there are many other ways to save money! These are just a few!
