We have discovered the great fall of Matsud.

For me holidays are days of expeditions. The hair raising days which bubble my blood and body. Days to find new heights, routes and destinies. Being in one of the beautiful states of India, Kerala which also famed to be the God’s own country, have lot to explore. While in the midst of this really greenish scenic beauty, I feel proud of my pedigree. Here I would like to share with you one of my recent odyssey to a place where even the soil might have not tasted the human foot prints. It was a place in the thick woods of Kerala. Before I step into my experience, I would like to say something about Kerala, because most of you may be unfamiliar with this dynasty. Kerala is the southern most part of India, one of the smallest states with moderate climate. Kerala is bounded by Arabian Sea and mountain ranges. The state is a popular tourist destination due to its scenic beauty and spectacular culture. The folk dance of Kerala namely Kathakali, Theyyam etc. are popular in the west too. The tourists are much attracted by the boat race, house boats journeys through the back waters of Kerala. It will take pages to describe about my small beautiful state and will deviate from my title so am stopping here and returning to my marvelous odyssey. My folk and my friend who is doing his higher studies in England, Mathews Wilson returned home for vacation. Since I was on leave we thought of a trip. No prior planning, no proper route map; since our blood cells had the bulk protein called “Adventure”, we set out with all amenities in his newly bought, luxury, black sedan of Skoda made. We covered 100Km and reached a place called Edamalayar. We liked the place. Cloudy sky, cool climate, fit enough for a trekking. We entered the forest with the car. Drove a little inside, we could not go further with the car. Later we started walking. The thick forest reminded me the scenes of the English thriller Predator-1. Gigantic roots hanging from trees frightened me a little but did not show it outside. The expedition continued till we reached a fantabulous scene. A beautiful water fall, a stream of clear and chilled water. No human eyes rather than ours might have seen this beautiful fall. Being the discoverers of a new fall, we named the fall as Matsud (Mathews+Sudeep) fall. Neil Armstrong and co-workers being the first men on moon hoisted the American flag; so we too hoisted a flag near Matsud; a flag with our bath towel to prove that we guys have reached there first. We played there, tried to catch fish. We had a nice time there, we enjoyed to the maximum. It was agonizing to return from Matsud, but since it was a strange place and was in the middle of the forest we had to. Without any interest to leave from there we left Matsud with a promise that on all vacations we will visit Matsud. We collected a bottle of water from Matsud and returned home. Later Mathews went to England and me to my college. Now am in home waiting for Mathews to come. And as I write, the bottle of water from Matsud is here close to my bed, calling me to slide down into the reminiscences of Matsud.
