Everything seems change. Each day in our body a large number of cells die. They are replaced by new ones at a slightly higher rate, until a person begins to get old. As you read this, so many new babies born in the world and almost that many will die. Change is everywhere in the world.
There is no need to be afraid of change. Anyone who changes in a positive way and adapts himself is sure to progress. Those who refuse to change are left behind. The secret of changing, the, is to adapt in a positive way. When cars were first produced, there were people who said that they were not good as horses and horse-carriages. Those who learned something about cars and knew how they worked certainly made progress. Those who are stuck to their horses and carriages were left behind.
Nothing remains the same. It takes a keen mind to recognize change and find ways to adapt to the change. You cannot refuse to be promoted to a higher class because you are afraid of new books, new teachers and new surroundings.
Sometimes, you fall into a company where someone is harsh and non-cooperative. If you give up, you are the loser. You can find ways of dealing with the harsh person or ways of stopping the person from being harsh. But you have to change and do something positive and effective. The good sense that God has given us has to be used to find solution to problems.
The solution lies in opening our eyes and mind to see the problem of difficulty. Close those eyes and mind to reflect on what can be done to adapt one self.
- Ask God to give you the wisdom to see what can be changed and the strength to change it.
- Ask Him the grace to accept patiently until the person goes away, retires or gets removed.
Most of all, we need wisdom to see the difference between that can be changed and what cannot.
The lessons of history are sound. When an individual or civilization meets challenges with honesty and strength, that individual or civilization prospers. That is why we are encouraged to change our attitude to accept a change that is for the common good. Those who refuse to change their attitude often become grossly unhappy.
Happiness is a state of being pleased and satisfied. It is something we have to find deep within ourselves. And it grows by sharing with others.
