Sarawak,Malaysia; Thursday.
The Development Programme of the Malaysian Armed Forces is purely for defence.
Tha Defence Minister who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Najib Razak says, "’We purchased according to our ability and immediate needs."
Malaysia’s armed forces are still equipped with guns, planes and ships that are mostly outdated. It is still waiting for the delivery of a new submarine, looking at Sukhoi Jetfighters and Westland helicopters. These are to replace the ageing planes that we still have and the helicopters that keeps on crashing from time to time.
Whatever is concluded from the purchases of these arms is that it is not for aggression but for maintaining peace.
