It was no big deal when the Royal baby, Prince of Cambridge was born without a C-section weighing a little over 8 lbs. But last week, when baby Jasleen was also birthed naturally in Germany and weighed 13.7 lbs, that was just as exciting – at least on the Internet.
Though Jasleen is not part of the Royal family in Germany, she has plenty of people to take care of her. It turns out that babies who are born at a very high weight is the result of the mother’s diabetes. This apparently makes the baby grow very big.
Prince George outweighs his father William and his grandfather Prince Charles when they were born – both weighing a little over 7lbs.
We might be led to assume that the diet of the younger generation of mothers contribute to the increase in weight, but genetic disposition seems to be the overriding factor when you look at the health of the baby as a whole.
With no royal title to her name, Jasleen is said to be doing well and she holds the title of being the heaviest born baby.
