United States: Richard Holbrooke the President Barack Obama administration’s US special representative of to Afghanistan and Pakistan has called western Pakistan the ‘heart of the threat’ to the US, India and many other countries.
Holbrooke has also added that the Afghanistan crisis cannot be resolved without addressing the problem of militancy in the restive tribal region.
The Barack Obama administration’s approach to the region has to be to treat it as an integrated whole, a single theatre of war, with very different rules on each side of the border.
Holbrooke pointed out that these militants are based in western tribal areas ‘although it also extends down into Baluchistan.’
The Obama already mentioned the western Pakistan tribal region is act as a “Safe Heaven” for Taliban and Al-Qaida Militants. The terrorist in this place is the threat of the whole world.
