“What is important is not winning, but taking part” How realistic is this attitude in the world of s

In today’s world, what I always see in the world of sport is harsh competition and I keep wondering that isn’t sport competition something you can take part and have fun without worrying about the result.  According to what I have been taught by adults and teachers, sport is a physical activity in which people compete against each other without getting upset if one loses.  A good competitor is someone who can deal with defeat or being joked about without becoming angry or furious but, honestly, I have to say that this theory doesn’t exist anymore in the society.

If I wind the clock back a little, I could perceive that the sport competition was nothing like in today’s sport, instead, the sport was not that rigorous.  Thinking of sport as an enjoyable exercise, most people tended to be broad-minded and generous since losing was a lesson they could use to amend their mistakes consequently, there were truely no hard feelings between the contenders.  Education was really one of the vital reasons why the older generations didn’t give much attention into winning the competition becuase they strongly believed that if they really put their heart and made the best of effort into the game, it wouldn’t matter what outcome they obtained.

On the other hand, the world of sport today can be determined by power and cheating.  To win the game, the athelets can simply use drugs that can make them astonishingly powerful, yet, very self-destructive.  Sometimes, losing a game can end up in a very ugly fight or chaos for people, who think that winning is the ultimate success, are too serious in a competition.  When watching athelets won in the competition on television, personally, I was doubtful whether they really accomplished their goals based on their efforts or their dishonestly, and, as a result, I lost faith in the sport competition.

The cause of these relies on the education due to the fact that it doesn’t teach people especially the children, who will be the future of the nation, to have morality and mercy, this ressults in misunderstanding among the children that winning is everything.  Futhermore, another reason is that the parents usually lured the children with properties or belongings the children like in order to let children win the game and in my opinion, this is truly obsurd as it will misconstrue the kids. Growing up, they will perform indecent ways to attain their goals.
