Forty years after The Very Hungry Caterpillar was first published, author Eric Carle still receives some 10,000 letters a year from children who read his timeless classic. Following recent retrospectives in The Guardian and USA Today, Google has joined the fanfare with a nostalgic logo based on collagist Carle’s design.
