Opinion from the Corner of Barbara Kasey Smith’s World
The World Requires Love, Compassion, and Understanding to Cure Its Problems:
In my opinion what the nations of the world needs is the offering of love, compassion, and understanding with each other in order to get along and to live in peace. It tells people in The Bible, King James Version, and in the New Testament and in the Gospel of Matthew 22: 35 – 40, “Thou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with your entire mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
People we should consider loving our neighbors (nations) first and foremost in times of disagreements and during whispers of wars and terrorist attacks against a nation. This is taught throughout the Bible; and considerations, discussions, listening, understandings of compassions and concerns should be first and foremost when conflicts and breakdowns sound throughout a nation. Before we allow hatred to enter into a disagreement in a nation we should render a heeding ear to our brothers and sisters in trying to dissolve problems that may be as a speck of dust but magnified into a mammoth size.
Wouldn’t it be wiser to remember God’s commandments and to try to come to agreements instead of expressing hatred; and in turn show compassion and understanding and love obeying God’s laws? It’s wise if people would realize that love has an ingredient called power and it can overtake hatred and evil if a nation will prevail. Having less hatred and more love can only harvest great relationships between nations. When nations care about nations it breeds a bonding that’s powerful; and promotes a sincere lasting relationship of trust and understanding.
People who obey God’s commandments, expressing love in lieu of evil during difficult time’s they’re obeying God’s law. In the New Testament and in Romans 13: 8 – 10, it tells people, “Owe no man anything, but to love one another: for he that loves another has fulfilled the law. For this, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not kill, not bear false witness. You shall not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”
Those people who love, is turned away from evil and it brings forgiveness and understanding to them. Love is as the Bible tells people in the New Testament and in 1 Corinthians 13: 4 – 8, “Charity suffers long, and is kind: charity envy’s not; charity vaunts not itself, is not puffed up. Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Charity never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there are tongues, they shall cease; where there is knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
It’s as the Bible tells people in the New Testament, and in 1 Peter 1: 22 – 23, “Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of brethren, see that you love one another with a pure heart fervently: being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever.”
It would be brilliant if all nations could come together in love and in peace and find a means of communicating together before they allow the evil of terrorist attacks and wars to come against another nation. Love has the ability to destroy hatred because it is full of power and understanding and it will build a solid foundation of love in lieu of hate triumphing if love is expressed.
Opening of arms to display love, listen, understand and show compassion can heal a broken word and turn evil from a state of affairs. It would be a great peaceful world if we expressed love instead of hate toward all nations and allowed love to overrule the heart to find an understanding and a compassion for all others.
