‘Will Parvesh Musharaff keep his promise?’

I am from India and endowed with all the rights in this world especially to comment upon anything that I observe in this world. Why not I comment upon what is happening in my neighbourhood i.e Pakistan!!So far so good!!.Wilting under the pressure of US and other international countries including India,Gen.Musharaf, I am sorry, President Parvesh Musharaf lifted the emergency that he imposed on 3rd,November,2007, in Pakistan.Restored civilian rights and the constitution with the attendant amendments that he introduced during emergency. He got himself safely elected as the civilian President, after stepping down as the army general. Also appointed his close confident as the army general. His lifting of emergency even surprised other political leaders in Pakistan like Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sheriff. But it should be noted that President Mushraff is very particular in implementing the amedments that he introduced during emergency, according to which those who questioned his authority or his amendments will not be allowed to have a come back either in politics or in judiciary. That means the former chief justice of the Supreme court of Pakistan and other judges who did not tow his policies or authority will never be restored and the Supreme court of Pakistan is already filled up with the judges who favoured and supported his election to the Presidentship.Of course they also declared his election as valid.President Parvesh Musharaff has promissed a free and fair elctions to the parliament and any number of observors from any part of the world can witness the forthgoing elections.Of course Benazir Bhutto has been actively campaigning for the elections. But one should not forget that from the date of imposing emergency, Parvesh Musharaff has carefully maneovered to regain his authority by getting himself elected as the President,by keeping his detractors either under house arrest or deposing them from their important positions (removal of former judges of the Supreme court of Pakistan),by validating his election by the present supreme court etc.But it seems the elections he has promissed to hold will not be allowed to geopardise his own position. Therefore, the moot question that lie before us is, will the forthcomming elections Musharaff promissed would be fair and free ?.But I am sceptical! Many others in India are also!
