Though Microsoft is firm in stopping the sale of Windows XP and ending its tenure as an operating system by June, 30 th, in order to promote the sales of Windows Vista OS, the computer makers are relentless.
Major PC makers who find favour with XP as an operating system are trying to sustain it even further. Top PC makers, Dell, HP and Lenova intend to sell XP even beyond this deadline by making use of certain clauses in Microsoft’s licensing terms which allow them to provide XP as a ‘Downgrade Option’along with the new operating system vista.
The popularity of XP is a bitter-sweet pill for Microsoft since it affects the sale of its new OS Vista.
Microsoft CEO, Mr.Steve Ballmer, also hinted the other day that the Microsoft Company might extend the deadline for XP, because of public demand, though he did not elaborate on it.
