Wolfson Weighs In On Clinton’s Failed Presidential Run

While speaking on CNN’s Late Edition, Howard Wolfson has weighed in on Hillary Clinton’s failed attempt of grabbing the Democratic nomination. It was Barack Obama who has clinched the Democratic nomination and not Clinton. Wolfson, the Clinton campaign’s communications director recently addressed the failure of the campaign.

Wolfson would say: “There are things that we would have done differently.” He said that the Obama campaign will learn from the mistakes of the Clinton campaign. Also, Wolfson had defended Clinton’s decision to give her concession speech on Saturday.

In that respect, Wolfson said: “I think it’s a little unrealistic and frankly unfair to expect somebody who’s been running for president for 18 months and has done as well as Senator Clinton did – [she] was winning states in the last several months by 30, you know, 40 points – on the last day of the primary – immediately come out and give a concession speech.”

Wolfson went out to explain that Clinton got support from women and Latinos while Obama got support for Obama. He said that African-Americans as a whole would end up voting for Obama.

So far, the campaign for Clinton’s bid for the presidency is over. But, Wolfson did not go into detail about the mistakes that the Clinton campaign has made. Then again, those that have been keeping track do not really need to hear it coming out of Wolfson’s mouth.

The failures in the Clinton campaign have become more than evident. Enough about the Clinton campaign as it is now in the past. Now, the contest is between presumed GOP nominee John McCain and presumed Democratic nominee Barack Obama.

Clinton is tasked with getting some of her eighteen million voters to back Obama. A recent poll revealed that at least 60 percent of Clinton supporters will back Obama. But, it is going to take some time before alliances will end up shifting.

Keep in mind that there are supporters frustrated enough to back McCain. Clinton’s task is not going to be easy to accomplish.
