Irked by her husband’s alcoholism, a housewife allegedly murdered him by smashing his head on to a wall and then buried the body in a small well within the premises of her house. Three years after the murder, the incident came to light accidently when the main accused, P. Bhamini, and her son were caught digging up the well to remove the skeletal remains.
On Thursday evening, neighbours, who saw Bhamini, 45, and her youngest son, Vijay, 19, digging the well, questioned them and as they got no answers, they alerted the Malkajgiri police. After a preliminary inquiry, the police found out that Bhamini had killed her husband, Chandraiah, a construction worker, because he was an alcoholic. After killing him, Bhamini allegedly packed the body in a sack and buried it in the abandoned well within the premises of their house in Satya Raghavendra Colony, Malkajgiri.
Bhamini had told her neighbours that her husband had absconded to escape from money lenders. When police questioned Bhamini, she reportedly confessed to her crime. Police are still digging out the skeletal remains from Bhamini’s house. Police have arrested Bhamini and Vijay and a murder case has been registered against them under section 302 of IPC. The accused will be produced before a court on Saturday. When reports last came in, police were still digging out some skeletal remains from the well.
