Dr. Prabha said that the State Mahila Congress wing was rejuvenated during the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister of the State and appealed participants to work for strengthening the party at all levels. She said Congress High Command always advocated for peace and prosperity of the State. She said weather it was 2005 earth quake or any climatic disaster, the congress party always come first to rescue and help of the State.
She asked women to know their power and take part in every social and administrative activity in the state. She said once 33% reservation bill would be passed, the women of every community would get its due share.
Earlier Minister for R&B, G.M.Saroori Saroori said that women have to play a pivotal role in all spheres of life, adding that there would hardly be any activity where women are not participating. He impressed upon them to prove their presence in every social activity and fight for maintaining their entity. He said women wing of the party has done a commendable job during previous elections of the State, adding that empowering women in high on agenda of the Government.
Saroori said that women have suffered a lot during 20 years of turmoil period in the State, adding that the Prime Minisiter, Dr. Manmohan Singh would be requested for providing a special employment package for them. He said Dr. Manmohan Singh, UPA, Chairperson, s. Sonia Gandhi and Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad are taking personal interest in the development of the State.
Saroori, while thanking Dr.Prabha and the members of the Congress for coming Valley, said that it would inspire the participants besides generating new hope for them. He hoped that Dr. Prabha would apprise, s. Sonia Gandhi about the problems being faced by the women of the State.
He said the Centre has provided colossal fund for the development of the State. He said that drought hit farmers have been provided fee ration for three months, adding the need is to extend the free ration for further three months to ease the problems of the effected families.
Saroori appealed workers to work in close coordination of party leadership and strengthen the base of the party. He said the secular character of the party would be maintained at all costs.
