Poetry From Barbara Smith Kasey’s Corner Of The World
My words appear to have gone away
I seek within to convey a message today.
I’ve written much throughout the years
many about bloodshed and tears.
Poems written from the core of my soul
memories once alive, now lies cold.
Writings of numerous feelings; now soiled and tattered
words holding meaning and important matters.
Utterances spoken in truth…straight from my heart
my pen holds secrets…I’ll never depart.
I’ve tucked them deep inside my cranial safe
where they’ll remain in a secure place.
Things I hold are treasures readers will never know
it’s up to me to decide if I want to let them go.
The hush-hush I hold lingers inside…
leaves me with emotions I don’t want to hide.
My pen is sincere, it speaks to show instead tell
countless things exist to evolve and to dwell.
One day my pen will use strokes to bring a new life
fresh narratives, scenery, metaphors and the like.
I’ll rise above the hum-drum of my past writes
convey new topics and something you’ll like.
I’ll soar above the earth, an eagle on a mission
pen and show the world as I release tensions.
