Jammu, August 08 (Scoop News) – The Government today formally handed over the construction of prestigious Bikram Chowk Flyover and seven more projects to the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) being taken up under the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funding (Tranche-II).
While International Competition Bids for the construction of prestigious Bikram Chowk Flyover and widening of road from Bikram Chowk to Convent School Gandhi Nagar, Jammu has been floated by J&K ERA, it has been given responsibility of executing seven more projects.
The seven more sub-projects for Jammu city include, Construction of Over Head Tanks (OHTs), Installation of 19 Tubewells , Up-gradation and replacement of worn out Machinery of pumping stations, Replacement of worn out pipes and strengthening of distribution of network (Channi Himmat, Channi Rama, Mattoo colony, Dilli and Bikram Chowk), Supply and installation of 8000 Domestic meters in Gandhi Nagar and Shastri Nagar, Renovation and channelization of Primary Drains and Construction of New Secondary Drains in Digiana, Gangyal, Ashram, Thanger Nallah (T4) and Tributary of Thanger Nallah (TT4) and Rehabilitation and Channelization of primary Drains and construction of new secondary Drains in Channi Himmat.
The construction of Flyover, a long pending demand, would largely help in easing huge traffic rush and jams in this stretch of busy road of city.
Meanwhile, Project Manager, Jai Gopal Mengi, of J&K ERA, Jammu has assured that the construction of Flyover and other projects in pipe line would be completed in stipulated time and also proper care will be taken to avoid any inconvenience to general public during the construction of the project .
