Jammu, March 23 (Scoop News) – The Minister for Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that construction work on Kargil-Panikhar road is apace at a cost of Rs 55 crore, adding that no formal proposal has been received from the Border Road Organization for transfer of this road.
Replying to a question by Mr Feroz Ahmad Khan in the Legislative Assembly here today, the Minister said as and when such proposal is received, matter would be examined by the Government in consultation with Kargil Autonomous Hill development Council.
In reply to the supplementaries by Mr Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, the Minister said that the matter for upgradation and macadamization of Sumbal-Bandipora road have been taken up with BEACON authorities and would be finalized with concerned authorities on priority for taking up the project.
116 works taken up in Ramban under BRGF: Sagar
The Minister for Rural Development and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Mohammad Sagar has said that under Backward Region Grant Fund(BRGF) about 116 works involving a cost of Rs 3.84 crore have been taken up under various sectors in Ramban Constituency during 2008-09 and current fiscal, adding that so far an expenditure of Rs 1.40 crore have been booked on the execution of these works.
Replying to a question of Mr Ashok Kumar, in the Legislative Assembly here today, the Minister said so far work on 96 works is apace in the area under the programme.
The Minister said that under Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra one project has been taken up in Ramsoo Block. He said the State land for execution of other 7 projects in the area is not available, adding that the construction work of these projects would be started as soon as the land was made available.
