JAMMU, December 21, 2013 : Six days workshop on elementary knowledge of Urdu for Hindi knowing teachers organised by language wing of State Institute of Education (SIE), Jammu, concluded here today.
H.R. Pakhroo, Joint Director Trainings/Principal State Institute of Education (SIE), Jammu was the chief guest at the valedictory function and S.K.Raina, Field Advisor SIE, Jammu, was guest of honour.
A total of 35 teachers and masters drawn from different Schools of Jammu province attended this week long workshop on basic teaching and learning of Urdu language.
H.R. Pakhroo while addressing the participant teachers and masters at this workshop complimented the language wing of institute for the new and novel initiative for imparting the knowledge of languages like Urdu and Hindi to the non-natives of these languages which otherwise are at verge of shrinkage. He also informed that in future more workshops on this pattern would be organized to bring the learning process of these languages at gross root level.
Earlier Tahira Parveen, coordinator of workshop welcomed the chief guest and presented the workshop objectives, contents, outputs and methodologies the resource persons have adopted to teach Urdu to non-native Urdu speakers.
Among other the programme was also attended by Jagdish Sharma, Principal of Regional Research Laboratory High School, Ranjeet Kour, Suman Manhas & Sudesh Khajuria, all Research Officers of SIE, Jammu.
The vote of thanks was presented by Hamida Khatoon, Research Officer, Urdu.
