Workshop on Human rights at Drosh

One day Seminar on Human and women rights held at Drosh.

CHITRAL: A one day seminar on human as well as women rights was held here at Drosh some 45 KM from here a very conservative area of the district. The program was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Alhaj Khurshid Ali former Nazim UC Drosh was chief guest on the occasion while Haji Karim Bakhsh was presiding over the ceremony. The seminar was organized by Easy and Equitable access to justice for women of Chitral (Funded by TROCAIRE) in collaboration of Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights Chitral (LAFH) and Young Star Development Organization (YSDO).     Niaz Ali Shah General Secretary of LAFH introduced aim and objectives of the seminar as well as he introduced his organization. Niaz A Niazi Advocate President LAFH highlighted human rights in the light of constitution of Pakistan and UN charter. He said Islam bestowed real rights to women some 1400 years ago. He said human rights follow Islamic principles not conflicting our culture and religious. He said daughters were buried live before Islam but this is Islam to identified rights of women folk.

He said LAFH raise voice against any human rights violation through media and each plate form. He said LAFH creates awareness among the masses to recognize their rights and duty. He emphasized on parents to must educate their children especially daughters. Saleem Kami Subject Specialist also highlighted human rights and determined by self as well as motivated the participants to give equally rights to their daughters. He expressed concern over that we depriving our daughters from their real rights and announced that I will take the initiative and will give equal rights to my daughters. He said if we educate a daughter she is a mother of future and will educate the whole family. He said that we should to change our attitudes and bring positive changes in our behaviors by respecting each other to not violate other rights.

M. Ayub presented a poem to acknowledge dignity and status of mothers. Qari Kifayatullah highlighted human rights on Islamic point of view. He said women folk also participated in crusades and the first martyred was a woman. He said if we not violate rights of each other there would be no disturbance in the world. He said women were considering to serve only men before Islam but this is Islam who identified rights of women as a mother, as a daughter and sister as well as a wife. He said Islam strictly have warned regarding women rights. He said Islam never oppose of participation of women folk in development of the country.  Alhaj Khurshid Ali Khah who was chief guest on the occasion said that Islam is the first religious who identified women rights. He also thanked administration of LAFH for arranging of this seminar. Qari Jamal Nasir propsed for detailing a women wing to protect women rights. The seminar was concluded with the prayers words of Haji Karim Bukhsh. A large number of women folk and men participated the seminar.

Wheel jam strikes suspended for 1 week by intervene of district Nazim.
A wheel jam strike from Arandu to Drosh was observed on Friday on the call of driver union. They were protesting against customs who have forfeited their vehicles and cooking oil some weeks ago. They had announced of wheel jam strike in the whole district on Saturday hence on the intervene of district Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah they postponed their strike for one week. As the main roads of Chitral have been blocked by snowfall and passengers used Kunar road of Afghanistan who come from Peshawar to Arandu. Hundred of Chitrali commuters were stranded in Arandu due to strike hence district Nazim arranged for shifting them to Chitral.
