CHITRAL: Every organization working in Chitral is accountable before the district government whether they are governmental or non governmental organization said District Coordination officer Chitral Mutasim Billah while addressing to a one day Thematic workshop on women/human rights for Executive District Officers (EDOs) of Chitral in a local hotel organized by Easy & Equitable Access to Justice Program for Women of Chitral (EEAJPW) funded by TROCAIRE. DCO was also chief guest on the occasion while District Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah was presiding over the ceremony. He said human being having distinguished dignity than other creation of Allah Almighty and we should to support and respect and protect for rights of each other. As the Holy Prophet (PBUH) has also warned about caring rights of our wives as they important segment of our society and stressed upon the Muslims regarding rights of their wives. He said working for human rights is everlasting and long process taking long time. He said that some 660 rupees are spending on a student in government schools per month but if even then result is not so satisfactory the teachers are responsible for downfall of education. He said no success is possible without emotional, moral, geographically, and intellectually contributing to each other and interaction of human being among themselves. He said no disturbance will be created if we not violate each other rights. He said that due to irresponsibility from our duties, without any discipline in our homes, mosques, public places we never achieve target of our lives. And we never be success until to change frame of our mind we should to change our attitudes.
He said man behind each and every act either that is right or wrong but we are responsible for that. He warned NGOs to avoid from duplication in each schemes and announced that a district coordination forum would be constituted to monitor all government and non governmental organizations of the district for long term achievement and sustainable development as well as each and every NGO will be accountable before the district government for their activities. He hailed services of EEAJPW Chitral for their meritorious services and preserving of human rights.
District Nazim Chitral Haji Maghfirat Shah who was presiding over the ceremony also hailed the management of the project and emphasizes to more strengthen it by expanding its network to the entire district so as to assure that right of no human being is violated. He affirmed shortage of fewer opportunities in employment and lack of educational institutions as regarding study report of the project and said that there is acute shortage of girl’s school and there is co-education at some places due to non availability of girl’s schools. He stressed upon the management of EEAJPW to point out short coming and also to submit recommendations for its remedy before the district government and all line departments. He said that 50% participation of women folk in such a conservative area is not possible hence their existing work may be polished for their further promotion. He said that district government of Chitral likely to conduct a coordination committee for monitoring of all organizations working in Chitral for long term success and sustainable development in concrete shape of their activities. Earlier that the ceremony was started with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Professor Ziaullah, Niaz A Niazi Advocate President LAFH introduced about LAFH activities while Niaz Ali Shah project coordinator delivered his presentation of women rights and finding of study. During his presentation he pointed out that women folk is a important segment of our society but unfortunately their rights are violating like they are not giving their share in heir, no participation of women in decision making and even they can,t live according to their choice. A question answer session was also held and the project coordinator and President responded and briefed the participants. A large number including EDOs, Doctors, Lady Doctors, educationists, Lawyers, civil officers, representatives of line department participated the workshop. Syed Akram Shah vice Chair person performed as stage secretary while Dr. Saleema Hassan Gynecologist presented vote of thanks to all participants on the concluding of workshop.
