World Diabetes Day is celebrated each year on November 14.
The date was chosen beacuse it´s Frederick banting´s birthday.
He was one of the two scientists who discovered insulin.
The Theme Day was initiated originally by the International Diabetes Federation,IDG,and the World Health Organization,WHO.
Every year,the campaign reaches out to several million people.
Diabetes associations and other organizations want to focus on diabetes worldwide,but the day is also an annual jubilee day for all those who are living with diabetes.
World Diabetes Day was celebrated for the first time in 1991.
About 230 million people in the world have diabetes.
