World famous nurologist Dr. Razdan advised doctors to spend more time with patients

Srinagar,India, April 26: (Scoop News) –World  famous  nurologist, Dr. Sushil Razdan advised the doctors to spend more time with patients, listen to them patiently, and help them to live a quality life. Saying that glory of doctors lies in the confidence that their patients have in them, he advised doctors to “work with zest and enthusiasm to lessen their sufferings.”

Dr. Razdan was the guest at a panel discourse under the “Meet the Eminent” program series organized by Allama Iqbal Library in collaboration with the Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) University of Kashmir as a contribution for posterity. Prof. Riyaz Punjabi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir presided over the event while as eminent physicians, Dr. G Q Allaqaband, Dr. Abdul Waheed and eminent psychiatrist Dr. Mushtaq Marghoob were panellists on the occasion.

Dr Razdan admired the talent present in J&K state and said that the only thing that is needed is encouragement from the government to improve their skills.Dr Razdan   lamented that clinical medicine is dying in today’s world and that doctors need to work with passion, spend time with patients, win their confidence in order to be successful.

Prof. Riyaz Punjabi, Vice Chancellor KU, was all praise for Dr. Sushil Razdan for “the way he dedicated his life to lessen the sufferings of the people”. Terming Dr. Razdan as son of the soil, Prof. Punjabi admired the competence, dedication and commitment of Dr. Razdan towards his profession and said, “such doctors are rare and it  is  they who bring honour to their society”.

Prof. Punjabi felicitated Dr. Razdan on the occasion by presenting a shawl to him on behalf of the University community.

Prof. Riyaz Rufai, Chief Librarian, Allama Iqbal Library in his welcome address, thanked the learned guests and the panellists as well as the vice chancellor and director EMMRC Dr. Shahid Rasool for their support to make this program a success. “Such programs help us to know about the life and achievements of great people and inturn, they inspire our youth to aspire for big things in life” added Dr. Rufai.

The event witnessed emotional scenes when people from different walks of life requested Dr. Razdan to return to the valley.

Later after the session, the Library was literally turned into a clinic as 100s of patients from across the valley thronged to get a glimpse of Dr. Razdan and seek his consultation. The Allama Iqbal library and its staff provided all help to visiting patients as an extension service.
