World Mental Health Day Celebrated In Kashmir.

Service ( SRVES,A socio environmental faction) Celebrates The world

Mental Health Day 2012 on the theme “Depression-The global crises” at

the Islamiya Public School Bota Kadal lal-bazaar Srinagar. A hefty

number of participants along with the teacher’s  joined the

ceremony.C.E.O SRVES Er. M.M.Idrees Ul Haq Beigh in his speech Throwed

light on the Depression, causes and It’s prevention. Later while

talking to press C.E.O SRVES said “The government of Jammu and Kashmir

needs  to Issue Special Treatment Guidelines. There has been an surge

in the number of Mental Health diseases in the Kashmir division. Since

2008, more than one lakh patients have been treated in the valley. One

cannot neglect the Two decades of violence during which thousands were

killed, injured, kidnapped, disappeared and tortured and hence is a

major cause for depression. Latest reports of September 2012 suggests

that  the number of people suffering from melancholy has increased

from 6,368 last year to 15,800 during the first nine months of this

year. Similarly, the number of patients torment from psychotic muddle

was 2,600 in 2011 and 4,410 this year till September, fretfulness

disorder increased from 7,800 to 8,305, substance abuse disorder 1,960

to 4,205, headaches 405 to 2,501, epilepsy 231 to 603, mental

retardation 225 to 241, organic brain syndromes 251 to 381, dementias

253 to 281, psychosexual disorder 200 to 300 and others 629 in 2011 to

646 patients .Government need to increase the awareness related to the

Mental Health Disorder by awareing  Door To Door, If Government

neglects Their will be an alarming condition and our state may become

the State with mental disorder Denizens” Later the vote of thanks was

given by principal Islamiya Public school.
