World’s first test tube baby turns 30.

30 years ago, couple Lesley and John have been trying for children but with no success because Lesley’s falopian tubes were blocked.

This couple then heard about the research by cambridge Unversity physiologist Robert Edwards and gynaecologist Patrick Stepoe and signed up with them for fertility treatment. This marked the birth of the World’s first test tube baby-Louise Joy Brown on July 25th 1978.Her birth opened the door for many infertile couples worldwide to have IVF(In Vitro Fertilisation) babies.

The World’s first IVF baby is now a mother and is living in Bristol, with husband and a 18 month son. When contacted she said that she has no big celebrations to celebrate the occasion.
