Ransoo,(Resai )/Jammu, March 4 (Scoop News) – Wrestler Bagaa of Amritsar (Punjab) lifted “13th Shiv Khori Kesri 2011” Title by defeating Wrestler Sagar of Delhi in a neck to neck contest that lasted for Nine minutes at Govt. High School, Ransoo, the base camp of Shiv Khori Shrine in Pouni Block of Reasi District, last evening.
As a part of historic annual 3-day Shiv Khori Mela Vishal Dangal was organized by J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Tourism Department, Ransoo Dangal committee and District Administration, Reasi.
MLA Reasi, Baldev Raj Sharma was the chief guest of the event. President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function while Assistant Commissioner, Sukhdev Singh Sambyal, Tehsildar Settlement Reasi, Gopal Singh who is also Mela officer, was the guest of honour.
MLA, Reasi and Treasure Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma, gave Rs. 6,000/- as cash prize money to Wrestler Bagga winner of 1st malli in addition to “Silver Gurj (Gada) and Patta, besides cash Rs. 5,000 given to runner up Pahalwan Sagar.
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association thanked the Minister of Tourism, Rigzin Jora and Director Tourism for their support to the promotion of indigenous game of wrestling. Minister has sanctioned Rs 55,000/- for organizing vishal Dangal as financial assistance.
In all, 52 bouts were played in the vishal dangal, Rs. 4000 prize was awarded to Digvijay of Khanna in 2nd main bout while Rs. 3000 was given to runner up, Kulbir Singh of Kote Bhalwal,
Ransoo Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this vishal Dangal included Kewal Krishan, Bhagwan Singh, Romesh Kohli, Paul Chand ,Mohan Lal, Kartar Singh, Swarn Singh, Romesh Sharma, Vijay Singh, Abdul Rehman, Sansar Chand, Jagdish Raj Verma, Romesh Chander, Suram Chand, Sat Paul Singh, Chain Kumar Jugal Kishore, Maj. R.S Manhas, Capt Lehar Singh (Retd), Sanjeev Sharma, Sunil Sharma and Mohd Fareed.
Mr Sharma Thanked MLA Reasi, District administration, Reasi Tourism Department and people who participated in vishal dangal. He said it is an occasion of pride for all of us that such big event was being held at Ransoo which would send a message of love, peace and brotherhood to the entire country.
Among other, Station House Officer, Reasi, Naib Tehsildar Pouni, N.C.C officer Katra, Joint Sectary J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Ex. Sarpanch Ransoo, Retd. Headmaster and a large number of people were also present on the occasion.
