Srinagar, October 20 (Scoop News) – N. N. Vohra, Governor, today said that there is enormous sports talent and high potential among the youth of the State and, given adequate opportunities, they can excel in various games and sports at the national level.

The Governor congratulated the J&K State Sports Council for organizing this competition. He distributed prizes among the participants whose performance was adjudged the best and wished the children a bright future ahead. He also gave away prizes to the teachers, Yoga instructors, members of the Technical Committee and officials for their strong support in making this competition a success.
The Governor was honoured on the occasion by presenting to him a memento by R. S. Chib, Minister for Youth Services and Sports.
Earlier, on arrival at the Indoor Stadium, the Governor was received by hundreds of children who were present on the occasion.
In his welcome address, R. S. Chib, Minister for Youth Services and Sports gave details of the various activities being organized for promoting sports in the State. He also dwelt on the new sports infrastructure being set up for this purpose. He thanked the Governor for taking keen interest in the over all development and growth of the State.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were K. Rajendra Kumar, Additional Director General of Police, Armed/Law and Order, functionaries and members of the Sports Council and a large number of participating children, their instructors and teachers.
