At a time when nation is looking forward to higher participation of youth in the political process at all levels, two important office bearers of the youth wings of the two biggest national political parties, BJP and Congress have been charged in criminal cases.
Two days after the Rajouri district president of the Pradesh youth Congress was charged with murder in a hit and run case and is still absconding, district president of the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s Rajouri unit president has been arrested for making obscene video clips of a local teenage girl forcibly and circulating them with the help of his brother in law.
Sources said that police arrested Varun Chandan son of Sham Chandan Bhartiya Youva Morcha district president and his brother in law Arun Sapotra son of Vijay Sapotra of Danidar for making porn clips and later circulating in the region.
Sources said that, he was arrested in connection with an FIR which was lodged in police station RAJOURI on 5-11-2011. However, family of the victim lodged complaint regarding the incident in local police station and today police successfully nabbed both accused.
Sources also said that the victim was produced in the Court where she confessed that she was forcefully taken inside the car by both the accused who then shot her clip.
State president Bhartiya Janta Youva Morcha (BJYM) Monish Sharma however disowned his district president. When asked for a comment, Sharma said, "we have already taken action against him and he has been fired months back.
The incidents involving two young politicians have raised aspersions on the credibility of the younger lot aspiring to make a niche for itself in the field of politics.
