Can you be “Resurrected” before you enter the grave?
Man can only die a spiritual death if, man refuses to; by faith believe in God and in Jesus as God, and believe in his graces through his forgiveness of one’s sins.
Spiritual death comes when you refuse to acknowledge God, as creator, and Jesus as redeemer.
A spiritual death , is to become totally separated from God, alienated from God, never to know God, and for this one faces exile and torment in the Lake of Fire for all time.
A man brings this upon himself though, because man has the freedom to choose, to choose between eternal salvation through Jesus, or eternal damnation by denying Jesus as their savior.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever, believes in him, should not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: But, he that believeth not is condemned already.” (John:3: 16-18)
Jesus is telling us that as spiritual beings being in sin, is being in a spiritual mortal state of death, and that our repentance asking Jesus for forgiveness is our spiritual resurrection necessary for God to recognize us, necessary for God to hear us, and respond to us and our prayers.
Most Christians believe by faith that one must die a physical death, before one can be resurrected.
They equate dying with resurrecting but this could not be further from the truth.
Jesus tells Martha the sister of Lazarus; “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead yet shall he live: And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. (John: 11:25)
We are spirit, living in human form.
The instant we admit to Jesus that we are sinners and ask Jesus to forgive us, we die a spiritual death. Immediately, we are also resurrected by our belief, our faith.
Jesus takes our sins upon himself for he has already died for the remission of our sins, and for the sins of all mankind, and at that very moment, Jesus cleanses us, purifies us and we are made spiritually renewed reborn in Christ.
Baptism, is then an outward demonstration of our belief and our faith, it is a sign of our repentance. Through the waters of baptism we become dead to sin and resurrected in Christ Jesus for all time.
