"I still want to play for Pakistan because this country has given me everything. Most importantly it has given me Islam. But the people who run cricket affairs they don’t want me to play for the country," said Mohd Yousuf.
"First of all I was not centrally contracted when I entered into a contract with ICL in late 2007. Secondly, money given to me was paid to all ‘A’ category players by the board so I wasn’t given any special amount," Yousuf said.
"They dropped me from Twenty20 squad without checking me out. I am a senior player and should have been given a chance to play Twenty20. If I had failed they would have been justified in dropping me," he said.
"Secondly, when I didn’t honour the ICL contract on the insistence of the board in 2007 I was promised and assured I would play in the Indian Premier League. But this didn’t happen despite several reminders to the board," Yousuf said.
"Thirdly, their attitude was such they didn’t even want me in the team which went to Canada last September. They said Canadian authorities didn’t issue me a visa. How can that be? I have been all over the world and I have been to Canada twice.
And if the Canadians were not issuing a visa to a senior player like me why didn’t the board hold back the team from travelling to the country?" Yousuf asked.
"The Canadian visa issue was all lies, they just didn’t want me in the team," he said.
"I never let my country down at any stage. Today when the ICL have no problems me playing for Pakistan why is the board insisting I cancel ICL contract. I have a three-year contract with ICL and can’t back out again," he said.
"I am not going to say anything more on this issue. Now if the people and media want me to play for Pakistan they should plead my case with the board," Yousuf said.
"I feel I can play for another three years and I want to contribute to Pakistan cricket," he said.
