Pune/Jammu, January 08 (Scoop News) – The 1st International Kashmiri Pandit Youth Conference, organized by Youth for Panun Kashmir, was inaugurated in a glittering ceremony at Yashwantrao Chavan Natya Greha in Kothrud, Pune on Saturday.
The two day event attended by the displaced Kashmiri Pandit youth drawn from all parts of the world was inaugurated with the lightening of a traditional lamp by Sarla Taploo, wife of Lt. Tika LaL Taploo. Smt. Sarla Taploo was accompanied on the dais by a galaxy of eminent personalities and spiritual leaders including Swami Kumar ji, Dr. Naveen Raina, President Kashmiri Hindu Samiti, Pune Govind Kulkarni President Akhil Bhartiya Brahman Mahasang, Shri Ramesh Ramu Ji of Kanchi Kamakoti, Amar Malmohi, World renowned saint Moreshwar Ghaisas Guruji, V.K.Raina, ex-MD bharat petroleum, Shri Anil Walsankar, CEO Maharashtra Educational Society. The dignitaries were felicitated on the dais by Dr. Agnishekhar, Convener Panun Kashmir and Vijay Bhat, President of the organization. Immediately after the inauguration a two minute silence was observed as a mark of homage to all those patriotic Indians including the security forces who lost their lives while protecting the sovereignty of the nation in Kashmir. The hallmark of the first session was felicitation of imminent Kashmiri youth icons with “ Kashmir Kirti Samman” for their excellence in their respective areas. The recipients included Raj Zutshi; noted film personality, Sanjay Suri, Film Actor; Deepali Wattal, Kuldeep Saproo, Abhay Rustom Sopori In The Feild Of Music, Ajay Bindroo Global CEO Supermax Dubai; Epoch Brand Services Headed By Shushant Koul, Ankit Raina International Junior Tennis Star, Kunal Khemu, Film Actor; Rahul Bhat, Model; Dalip Langoo, For Music; Sanjay Raina COO Ten-Sports; Veerji Sumbly, For Art & Painting.
The whole event was webcast throughout the world hundred and thousands of Kashmiri Pundits were watching the proceedings in different corners of the world. Shri Shri Ravi Shankar ji addressed the conference through webcast from Germany. He wished the conference a success and promised to hold seminars, discourses and camps at Banglore on Kashmir Shivism in future.The gathering was addressed in the first session by Dr Agnishekhar, Convener Panun Kashmir, wherein he touched wide range of national and community specific issues. Dr Agnishekhar made the youth of the community conscious of the challenges be it political, social or cultural which confront the community n general and youth in particular. He said it was imperative that the KP youth in diaspora need to strive harder to reverse the causes of genocide and exodus. Dr Agnishekhar called upon the youth to strengthen the movement for achieving the geo-political aspirations of the community i.e, “creation of homeland for 7 lakh Kashmiri pundits in north and east of river Jhelum in Kashmir valley,” even though it may take decades or centuries. He impressed upon the audience to draw the inspiration from the establishment of Jewish state that is Israel. Dr Agnishekhar out rightly rejected the flase propaganda undertaken by separatist, pseudo-secularists and so called human right activists regarding the exclusion of Kashmir from the ethos of Indian civilization, rather he emphasized upon the fact that India is the extension of the Kashmir in terms of its civilization context. He stressed upon the fact that the panun Kashmir is a political, social and cultural movement which gives the purpose to live as a community to the kashmiri pundits in exile. He impressed upon the youth of the community to establish a connect among themselves and their roots and heritage in this Diaspora.On this occasion CDs and Books were released which include a CD depicting the martyrdom of Pandit Tikalal Tiploo, by her wife Smt Sarla Tiploo Ji. A souvenir named Panun Kashmir Smarika, the cultural performances of the day were enthralling, Kashyap Ke Kasmir, music by Kuldeep Saproo, Singers Deepali Watal, Suresh Chavan And Choreographed by Ajay Raina was the star attraction tof the show. Santoor play by Ajay Rustom Sopori, panun Kashmir theme song by dalip Langoo and song sung by Sh Vansh Pandita and monologue performance by shri kamal peshin, violin play by Mithilesh Wanchoo and flute play by Mayank Raina, exhibited the art in exile.
One of the sessions was devoted to explore, exploit and connect the talent and resources of the kashmiri pandit youth and the reasons of indifference of the youth and solutions which was addressed by Shri Sanjay Raina COO Ten-Sports. The future programs and empowerment, framing a working model for achieving the goals was addressed by Shri Rajiv Nehru, Shri Rahul Koul.
The day ended with a session dedicated to historical awareness, exile consciousness and youth mobilization and the exodus, its reasons, the lessons and the preventive measures where elucidated by Shri Rashneek Kher . Shri Sanjay Raina Secretary Political Affairs Committee in his address underlined the need for the youth to know about the exodus and genocide inflicted upon the community by the jehadi terrorism. He said that the prosecution of the kashmiri pandit community is a continuous process undertaken by fundamentalists and the powers at state as well as the central level.
