November 22(Vijay Kumar):- J&K Chief Minister,Omar Abdullah on Sunday said that youth have a great role to play in creation of conducive atmosphere for sustained development adding that peace is must for growth and development and young people have to positively work for it.
Addressing a 3-day Conference organise by Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), South Asia Retreat-2009 at Hotel Taj Krishna in Hyderabad,he said his government is encouraging large scale participation of youth in the peace and development process and striving hard to develop corporate sector on a strong edifice.
Describing youth corner pillars of peace and development, Omar highlighted their role as imperative in creating a progressive and developed society. “Present day global scenario has made youth all the more important in the fields of economy and social justice”, he told the CEOs and delegates of YPO.
Omar said that young people have to make their presence felt in all the fields of life by putting in place new and honest initiatives for all-round socio-economic and political development.
The Chief Minister said that the contribution of youth in corporate, human resources development, agriculture, science and technology and other sectors have opened new vistas of growth and development. “The success of young people is inspiring the youth globally to explore possibilities and prove their mettle”, he added and expressed hope that in future youth force will dominate all fields of the life.
