If there is a film that can single-handedly expose some of the biggest fallacies facing our generation, it is Zeitgeist, an anonymously-made documentary that aims to open the eyes of its viewer by presenting and analysing the socio-political system we find ourselves in.

Happily, these facts are presented like an essay of three parts and all the viewer does is sit back and watch.  Although at points there seems to be no connection between the parts, the soul purpose of the film is to provide information on certain aspects of power that affect the world today.

Based on one year’s worth of research, the documentary strips apart the myth of Christ and the supposed Myth of September 11. But the most important information comes in Part III, where the tactics of gaining of social control, maintaining invisible power and the manipulation of the Media to blindfold are revealed.

The main theme of Part III is America’s Central Bank, where all U.S. currency is printed. The revelation is this; the Central Bank of America, or the Federal Reserve System, is independent of the government, and the money that this bank releases into the country is actually released on loan, meaning that every dollar in circulation within the US already carries debt to the bank. Effectively, the U.S. dollar does not belong to the U.S. government or its peoples. What is more incredible is that due to nurtured ignorance no one knows how this system works, reinforcing the importance of the film.

And, if you think this subject is irrelevant to Europe, think again.  Take the Euro, which was incidentally created by an American economist, and the fact that Gordon Brown has set the Bank of England free to work independently of the Government by setting its own interest rates.  The same structure is at work in every country that is found within the American Sphere of Influence.

While it is easy to dismiss the film as conspiracy theory, we should bear in mind that there are two sides to every story and this is the second side. Although it could have been tighter in terms of connecting arguments, whoever made the film has provided the viewer with the critical tools to analyse the dynamics of power at its very source; money. That’s the best part of the film. What’s even better is that you can download it for free.
