Ziarat Winter Problems Report By Rabiah Baig 2008

Earthquake inPakistan’s  Balochistan Province claimed more than 215 lives and 320 injuries. The first tremor with the magnitude of 5.2 was felt at 4:40 AM (Pakistan Standard Time) while a second of 6.4 occurred at 5:33 AM (PST) on October 29, 2008.
District Ziarat was badly affected from the earthquake while people of other parts including Pashin, Zob, Qila Abdullah, Khanzoi and Khan Bangla also suffered huge loss of life and property.
The severe cold and dry winter winds that blow over Baluchistan are a recurring phenomenon, and those who call the region home are used to them.

However, this year has been different. With many homes reduced to rubble after the earthquake in late October, people in Ziarat and Pishin have been forced to stay in tents while the mercury dipped to a cruel minus 6 degrees Celsius during the night.

This report shows the problems facing by residents of Zairat in winter and how their lives are effected and change by dadly earth quake.
