Daro,Malaysia:
Party Keadilan Rakyat or better known as PKR finally kicked out Zulkifli Noordin, the Member of Parliament of Bandar Klang constituency.
This was reached at, after lengthy deliberation, by the Central Working Committee. Zulkifli had earlier bolted out of the meeting after protesting about the presence of some non-Muslim members of the CWC which was called to discuss his critique of the party’s leaders concerning the usage of the word ‘Allah” issue.
Zulkifli’s stand was that the “Allah” issue is strictly Islamic in nature and that non-Muslim has no right to deliberate about it. According to the maverick politician, every Muslim should take the stand to support the Home Ministry’s decision. The Home Ministry of Malaysia had earlier decided that non-Muslims, whoever or wherever they are, should not use the term in their publication. They can only use it in the privacy of their churches.
During a press conference later, Zulkifli admitted that he had always expected his dismissal. Citing certain ‘little Pharaohs’ close to the top leadership as being those who are happiest now that he is out of the way, he maintained his innocence.
Asked about his future decision, Zulkifli says he will continue in his role as an active and independent Member of Parliament.
PKR is a component of the Pakatan Rakyat which is in the Opposition.
