Describing culture as the adhesive that binds together different communities, Minister for Education and Public Enterprises, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed on Sunday evening asked people to uphold these values that has given our nation a unique place in the world community. The Minister was speaking at Kashmir Day Function, organized by a socio-cultural group, at Abhinav Theatre in Jammu.

Earlier Ramesh Hangloo, President, Pir Panchal, gave a detailed resume of the organization. He said that the Western culture has gone broke because of values which hover around materialism. He demanded inclusion of Sharda script in school curriculum.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion in which participants from various schools and cultural groups participated.
The Minister later presented Abhinav Gupt Awards, 2009 to Prof. O. N. Changoo, and annual awards to Vijay Malla, renowned singer, Ajay Bachloo ,Correspondent of Star TV, Rajinder Kichloo, Lensman, Take 1, Manas Sharma RJ, 92.7 FM, Kuldeep Safroo Music Composer & Director,. J. K. Koul Bezan, writer and actor and to all the participating schools and cultural clubs.
