He was fined Rs 200 for violating section 4 of COTPA which prohibits smoking in public places. The squad also inspected the records of the New Paradise Gas Agency to verify whether the accused was arranging LPG cylinders from this agency. The squad found that the Manager of the agency Abdul Ahad Bhat was not properly maintaining record of sales, neither was he issuing cash receipts to the consumers. The Manager was given a stern warning to ensure proper sales records and Asst Director (Enforcement) CAPD was asked to take up the matter with the IOCL. Therafter the squad inspected various markets including Dalgate, Nishat, Brien and Pahloo and recovered a fine of Rs. 3600 from two bakers, one general grocer, one meat seller and a rice mill for not maintaining rate list and posessing defective weighing machines.
