Poonch/Jammu, March 13 (Scoop News) -Chief Secretary of the State, Madhav Lal alongwith Commissioner/Secretary Industries and Commerce Department, Umang Narula reviewed measures taken for augmenting facilities for Cross LOC Trade and passengers movement from Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point at an officers meeting here today.
DDC Poonch, Kuldip Lal Khajuria, SSP Poonch Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, ADC Poonch Mohd Matloob Khan, officers of security forces and other related officers attended the meeting.
Chief Secretary was told that Cross LOC trade is flourishing with the passage of time and two days a week trade is being allowed from this crossing point. As many as 166 traders are registered to carry on trade from this side out of which 140 traders actually taking part in the trade.
He was told that since the inception of trade facility, a total of Rs. 1,50,35,31,741/- trade has been made out of which transactions of Rs.82,79,11,425/- were made in Indian currency upto February last this year.
It was further told that during trade days 25 truck containing permitted tradable goods per day cross the LOC. It was also made out that as many as 3314 persons visited POK from Indian side, while 3384 persons from POK visited Poonch since 2005. Whereas 408 persons from Indian side and 351 persons of POK visited Poonch during current financial year.
Chief Secretary visited Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC), Rangnar and also convened a meeting with traders led by their Union President Pawan Kumar Anand and listened to their suggestions.
