One hundred customers of Globacom, on Tuesday in Lagos, won various brands of new cars in the ongoing Glo Win and Rule Promo.
Another set of 53 prizes were drawn for Glo postpaid customers and winners emerged.
The postpaid prizes include three brand new cars, 25 flat LCD television sets, and 25 laptops.
The 100 cars included 50 Kia Rio, 23 Nissan Sunny, 19 Peugeot 307, 6 BMW and 2 Mercedes Benz cars.
Glo had preciously drawn 19 cars and the winners were presented with the keys of their brand new cars, shortly after the 100 cars were drawn on Tuesday.
Some of the winners, who were contacted on phone at the venue of the draw, were full of joy and thanks to Almighty God.
As some were jubilating on phone, some were still skeptical to give their details on phone, believing that the calls were from fraudsters who were looking for their preys.
Miss Omolaleyan Orinyomi with Glo number 08052963230 who managed to identify herself as a university student, said she has had of Glo Win and Rule Promo but that she was yet to believe that a Nigerian company, be it telecommunication company could give out 500 brand new cars in a single promo. She was however convinced when she was communicated that her number won her a brand new Kia Rio car.
Addressing a large crowd at the premises of Lagos Television in Ikeja, venue of the draw, Mr. Adewale Sangowawa, executive director, Human Resources for Globacom explained that the reason for the promo, draw and presentation of prizes was to acknowledge the massive support of Nigerians to Globacom, which he said, had sustained the network and helped it to grow in leaps and bounds in just a period of five years of operation.
Globacom used the draw and presentation to equally mark its fifth anniversary in the telecom business in Nigeria. It rolled out services in Nigeria on August 29, 2003.
According to Sangowawa, Glo had in these five years of operation, raked in over 20 million subscribers and has rolled out base stations in all corners of the country.
The second national carrier, he said, has made telephone services affordable in the country.
"The Win and Rule promo is one of our many ways of expressing our gratitude to our customers. For us at Globacom, the customer is king," Sangowawa said, while warning that no Glo subscriber should pay money to people who go about defrauding innocent people in the name of promos. Glo, he said, does not demand money or recharge card for any of its promos.
