How does any simple, sinful, mortal adequately express his or her thankfulness and gratitude to God, Our Heavenly Father, and to Our Brothers Christ Jesus, and The Holy Spirit, who is Creator, Provider, Teacher, Healer, Consoler, Confessor, Forgiver, Redeemer, Alpha and Omega?
What words, what actions, could possibly be worthy enough, to orate or orchestrate, in order to tell, to show, God, just how much we thank, we appreciate, we adore, we worship, we cherish, we glorify them?
How do we express adequately to, Our Heavenly Father, Our Brother Jesus, and, Our Brother The Holy Spirit, sincere thanks for not simply being in our lives, but actively sharing each and every second of our being and living, for becoming a part of us and our everyday existance?
How do you possibly show adequate awe and appreciation, to someone who can speak into creation, sun, moon, stars, a firmament, and planets, keeping them so perfectly in sync, as they rotate and revolve, through the sky, without crashing into each other, and especially when He creates a planet that can support life, for we simple humans, with both seas, and dry land, that holds life such as the birds of the air, the animals of land, and fish of the sea, insects that carry food for plants and flowers, to provide clothing, food, and beauty, including we humans. What can you say to A God who can with a thought cause it to rain or snow at will, exactly where and when it is needed?
He provides trees, bearing fruit and nuts, dates, for eating, as well as needed shade and protection from the elements, provides such as coffee trees, and plants that bear cotton, and grains, and seeds and berries, squashes, melons, potatoes, peanuts, for nourishment, as well as for medicines and a myriad of other uses.
Here is a Father who not only brings you alive at birth, through a simple little breath filling your lungs with life giving oxygen, but makes sure that you have a brain for thinking and storing knowledge, a heart to feed and supply, and feel, eyes to see, ears to hear,a nose to smell, fingers to touch, limbs to move and muscles as strength to lift and do most things.
He supplies all of your organs and bones with life giving nourishment, through your blood fed by the foods and fluids you ingest, organs that create a balance within us, to keep us healthy and strong
He provides you with special chemical agents within, to fight off diseases, lungs to continuously supply life-giving air to your body and brain, and started you out as a tiny seed within your mother’s womb, nourishes you with food and love, for the nine months it took for you to grow and be ready to come into the world.
Here is a Father who wants only the very best for you, his child. He wants you to have the very best, that life has to offer to you, and to help you every step of the way, to becoming the very best "YOU" that you can be.
Here is a Father who hates and detests sinfulness so much, that He asked His only begotten son, to accept the total humiliation of being wrongfully accused, scouraged, crucified, and have all of the sins of all mankind, from Adam on up, past, present, and future, heaped upon Himself, becoming the perfect sacrificial ransom for man.
How can you or I or anyone human thank a God who sends His Holy Spirit to you, to live within you, to give you the knowledge needed, and the wisdom to apply it, as needed to become, a Minister, a Priest, a Nun, a Missionary, an Evangelist, in God’s service.
Maybe you become a doctor, a nurse, a care-giver, a chemist who will discover a cure for some disease, or a lawyer, a Union leader, a politician, maybe an engineer, or a banker, or a baker, or a chef, a florist, an electrician, what ever position in life He God has chosen for you to become which will provide you with the necessary means not only to serve God but also earn an adequate wage to take care of your financial needs and desires.
How do we say thanks for God’s Holy Spirit when it teaches us God’s laws and rules fo living a Godly life, someone who lovingly, tries to help us to freely choose between right and wrong, and will lovingly chastise us when we do wrong, and then guide us back to God’s path chosen for us to follow.
How do you say thanks adequately for giving you that special ability to become an Olympic gold medal champion in some sport, or some professional athelete, or an artist, a sculptor, a musical instrument musician, or vocalist, maybe a renouned writer.
How do you repay God or thank him for bringing into your life and surrounding you with people that you will need, as friends, work associates, people that can assist you with different things as you go through life.
How do you show grateful appreciation, for selecting that one special person who becomes your life-long Soul-mate, to share love and intimacies and feelings and thoughts, as you support each other in all ways, during good times and bad times.
Is it enough to say a simple thanks at meals, or to say thanks as you are getting ready for bed saying your night prayers? Is it adequate to stand or sit thanking God for this or that and then asking for more of whatever need you think brought to His attention at that moment? Is kneeling, or laying prone, on the floor and crying out your thanks and woes, what God requires from us? As a singer or a musician is a simple song sung or played well, with feeling worthy of saying thanks? Because God is God, is it even necessary to try to say thanks?
Our Heavenly Father provided to Moses and to Mankind, His Ten Commandment, not Ten reccommendations as to how to live towards one another in life. The first one is to honour God with all your mind, heart, body and soul. We are to do this in the way we live out our lives with our God, as well as with out brothers and sisters.
Jesus reminds us that if we love our neighbors and our enemies as we love ourselves, if we Love, as He loved His apostles, and go about baptising and spreading "The Good Word" of his Gospels and Epistles, we would be rewarded in heaven.
When The Holy Spirit warns us of some wrong choosing, or some danger, and we choose to ignore the warning and go about doing things our way, and we end up hurting ourselves, or causing a problem we could have avoided, is this how we say thanks? And Then do we then turn to God to straighten it out. When we ask God through His Holy Spirit for something in our lives, but we don’t have the patience to wait upon God, and then set out to accomplish it our way, is this how we say thanks?
When God asks something of us, and maybe we refuse, or we procrastinate, instead of trusting that God knows what He is asking of us, is for our good, knowing that He will assist us through every step of the way, knowing that God’s timing and His way is perfect, is that how we thank Our God, Our Creator?
Personally, I don’t believe that there are adequate enough words that I could ever possibly speak, write, or sing, worthy of expressing my thanks to such a God my God, but these ways are all I know to do, at least while I am a simple human, child and servant of God, maybe once I get home to heaven, I will discover a different way, but for now, I say,
"My Heavenly Father, My Brother Jesus, My Brother Holy Spirit, it is I, your child and your brother,Dave. I offer up myself mind, heart, body, and soul, to you as child, brother, and humble servant. Please use me to serve in any way you choose to bring honour and glory to you and help me to praise you in all that I say and do. I greatfully thank you for being you my God, my Redeemer my Teacher, and I will stand by you and follow you now and always, thank you with my deepest love and affection, Dave, yor child and brother."
