Making a statement in the House about the incident, the Minister said FIR No: 15/2013 was registered in Police Station Soura and investigation was ordered.
Minister of State for Home, Sajad Kichloo, while intervening, informed the house that Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand are in Srinagar and reviewing the situation and hoped they would take an appropriate decision regarding Saidpora incident soon.
Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Mubarak Gul has strongly condemned the Saidpora firing incident in which one of his very close associate and a staunch National Conference supporter Altaf Ahmad Wani was killed.
While expressing condolences with the bereaved family the Speaker demanded that the state government should institute a judicial enquiry into the incident and bring the culprits to book.
He said Altaf was an innocent person who had nothing to do with any kind of stone pelting and was not involved in any other unlawful activities and as such his killing has shocked him and the people at large.
The speaker urged the state government to ensure that the dependents of the deceased are taken care of and adequately compensated immediately.

Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Sartaj Madni, who was presiding over the House, directed the Government to make a statement on the issue in the House. He said he shared the sentiments expressed by the members and regretted that media has not carried the condolences expressed by Speaker, Mubarak Gul while conducting the House yesterday.
