The great Lord Lakshmi Narasimha swami festival- holy hill place
The oldest
Penna –Ahobilam, situated in Anantapur district, is known for its temple dedicated to Bogurla Narasimha swami. Every year a car festival is held here in the month of Vaisakha (April-May). The temple is built on a hillock thirty feet high and is reached by a flight of steps.
A huge footmark, measuring five feet by three feet, is seen here. The devout believe it to be the footprint of Narasimha. An opening to the south, beneath this, is said to be the passage for a tunnel leading to a river. The water poured into it doses not overflow, whatever be the quantity.
